Hi, I’m Deb. Like all of us at Birth Journey Midwives, I believe in your body’s natural abilities to birth your baby. I am proud to be part of our supportive team who are committed to providing you with the most recent and up to date care.

I live with my family in North Canterbury and became a midwife because I wanted to work in the health sector with a focus on women’s health.

I have tertiary primary and Lead Maternity Care (LMC) experience and have professional relationships with both Christchurch Women’s and Rangiora Hospitals. I have also worked in primarily care, in locum midwifery and in the community in an LMC role.

I am proud to be a member of the dedicated team at Birth Journey Midwives who have faith in the normal physiological process of birth.

I believe that women need to feel empowered to make the best decisions for themselves, their babies and their families.

To achieve this, I support women through the sharing of information so they make informed decisions on how they want their own care to flow.

I believe that the birth journey process works best when it is observed and respected with as little interference as possible. I also believe in the community that surrounds women and as a practice we are honoured to be part of that community.

I am here to support you in one of the biggest journeys you will experience.
